Valley of Flowers is this valley A UNESCO World Heritage Site located at 3858 meters is renowned for its vibrant flora and fauna and sprawls this enchanting region with charming meadows of alpine flowers and known as a paradise for nature. Gurdwara Hemkund Sahib is a sacred Sikh Gurudwara situated near a glacial lake, surrounded by seven towering peaks. It is one of the highest pilgrimage sites in India. It’s an important pilgrimage for Sikhs and Hindus located at an elevation of 4,632 meters in the core zone of Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve. The entire region captivates visitors with their breath-taking landscapes and deep spiritual significance, offering a blend of adventure, nature, and devotion. This valley is not just famous for Flowers but there is plenty of wildlife with Musk Deer, Brown Beer, Himalayan Black Deer, Bharal and a huge variety of butterflies. River Pushpawati runs through the valley and the river bed is 8 kilometers from the entry gate with flowers all around and the backdrop offere views of mighty Himalayas and glittering glaciers. The trek for Valley of Flowers starts from Village Pulna which is about 5 Kms ahead from Govindghat and from here the 13 Km well laid trek will take us to Ghangaria which is the base for trek to both the Valley of Flowers and Gurdwara Hemkund Sahib which is an important pilgrimage for Sikhs and Hindus and is about 5 Km from the base camp at Ghangaria.

• Location: Near the Valley of Flowers, Chamoli district, Uttarakhand.
• Elevation: ~4,633 meters (15,200 feet).
• Significance: Dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the 10th Sikh Guru, who meditated here in a previous life. Also sacred to Hindus, as the lake is associated with Lakshman from the Ramayana
• Base Camp: Ghangharia is the base camp about 8 Kms from Pulna Village at Govindghat
• Trek Distance – Ghangharia to Hemkunt Sahib is about 12 Kms return

• Famous For: Over 500 species of wildflowers, including the rare Brahma Kamal, Blue Poppy, and Cobra Lily and diverse fauna, including snow leopards, Himalayan monals, and musk deer.
• Base Camp: Ghangharia is the base camp about 8 Kms from Pulna Village at Govindghat
• Trek Distance – Ghangharia to Valley is about 8 to 10 Kms return
Best Time to Visit - July to September: During the monsoon, when the valley is in full bloom, showcasing a carpet of flowers.

WEATHER CONDITION
Uttarakhand being a hill state where weather is uncertain and with Dhams located at a very high altitude, its recommended to carry light to heavy woollens. Anyone traveling to altitudes above 10000 Ft. is liable to suffer from Acute Mountain Sickness ( AMS ), unless properly acclimatized. In this tour, you are touching high altitude terrain. The most common symptoms of AMS are headache, disturbed sleep, loss of appetite, nausea, coughing, irregular breathing, breathlessness and lack of concentration. You are advised to allow time for acclimatization before engaging in any physical activity, once you reach high altitude terrains. Smoking & Drinking should also be avoided
